First 100 Days of Autism: For Parents of Newly Diagnosed Children
Here is a fabulous document to help parents of newly diagnosed children, produced by Autism Speaks. It is American, but if you look at the information as a guideline it gives a great deal of information that is useful. It even looks at the different therapies to choose from.
When we were diagnosed, it seemed too much information in different places and was very overwhelming. We could not find any of this information in one document that was easy to ready and digest.
This is a very well put together document that will help inform parents and family members about Autism. Some program information is different due to it being about the American system which differs from our two publicly funded programs. But it will give you a good idea of who is going to be involved with your child’s team, the role they will play and a better understanding of autism.
